House Renovation

So... as you probably know, we moved house recently and I've been rather busy over the last couple of months with renovations, a lot of painting, and generally filling our nice empty new home with an inexplicable amount of rubbish that has been accumulated over the years.

I still have a few bits and bobs to sort out with the studio photos, so I will share them with you a bit later on. In the mean time, I thought I'd share with you some snippets from the renovation and some of my favourite bits and bobs from around the house. I love getting to see other illustrators homes and studios so hopefully this might be of interest to you too?

Living in dust for a couple of weeks...

Some lovely old wallpaper featuring herbs and plants we found under the kitchen light switches!

Gorgeous felt fridge bunting by Kellee Rich and a couple of my little Origami Crane magnets (back in the shop next week when I've made some more!)

One of my favourite illustrations! Terrorsel by the amazing Joy Ang

A slightly higgledy-piggeldy arrangement of the beautiful Endangered Animals postcard series by Sandra Dieckmann and Jamie Mills

Creative Boom

Just another quick one to say that if you head on over to Creative Boom, you can now see me featured on their Lookbook :)

Sorry for the delay on showing you my recent commissions... One of them should be with you later this week; I'm planning a bit of a longer post to share a little bit of my working process with you!

Peculiar Bliss Magazine

I completely forgot to blog about this, so thought I would do a quick post while it's still floating around in my head. At the end of June (it seems so long ago now!) I submitted some work to Peculiar Bliss, an online magazine. The theme for submissions was 'Pastime', and here's what I came up with! This is one of those illustrations that I'm not entirely happy with, but I can't put my finger on what it is about it that's wrong, or that I don't like. I was trying something a bit different to usual, and I'm not sure that it worked. What do you think of it? I think I prefer my original drawing before it was coloured, so here's a peek at that too.

You can see the other work in issue six of Peculiar Bliss here.

500 Follower Giveaway Results!

I can't believe it's September already! Autumn is my favourite season (I don't do very well with summer, being of the ginger persuasion) and I've definitely felt a little shift in the weather over the last week or so already... time to crack out the scarves and boots I think!

I've had a lovely and surprisingly massive response to my giveaway, so am sending out huge thanks to everyone who has entered and followed my blog/liked my facebook page etc :)

The winners have been drawn this morning via a big numbered list and a random number generator, and am pleased to announce that the winner of the origami prize is Kerri-Ann Hulme! Email/DM on Twitter your address details to me and I'll get your prize sent out as soon as possible :)

The three runners up who have won 35% discount vouchers for my Etsy shop are: Jane Eccles, Made by My Rabbit, and Lizzie Hicks! I will be sending off Twitter DM's with the code to you later on today.

For everyone else who didn't win, as a little thank you for entering, you can use the code FREESHIP500 until the 15th September at my Etsy shop to get free shipping if you would like to treat yourself to anything!
