Etsy shop!

My Etsy shop is now officially open! (Well... it's been open for ages now, but I haven't had the time to photograph and list everything) It's brimming over with stock of all kinds: books, prints, cards, and lots of lovely baby wear so please do take a look and tell your friends.

Here's a little peek at some of the stock!

You can also have a browse of some of my items by taking a look at the new shop page on my website. Hopefully the Etsy links on there will be accompanied by some others in the next week or so when I have sown my shopping seed elsewhere around the internet!

And for those of you who have been enquiring about prints of my 'How to Complete a Uni Project' series, there are now A3 prints of it and a limited edition softcover book!

Arts Thread and New Designers

My work can now also be found in a mini portfolio on Arts Thread - a website showcasing graduate portfolios in association with New Designers.

I will be exhibiting my work with my college this year at Part 2 of the New Designers show, on the 7th-9th July at the Business Design Centre in Islington - so if you're in London, do come along and have a look! It costs to get in, but you can book in advance on their website for cheaper tickets than on the door, and there'll be loads of other interesting stuff to look at (around 3,500 designers exhibiting!).

Curly hair

That's the sound of some momentary relaxation after 11 weeks of Final Major Project stress! I finally finished it, leaving a nice round week until hand-in for lots of printing stress and jazzing up my sketchbook a bit.

I'm quite pleased with how it went - the book spreads have, in the most part, turned out how I wanted them to, and I got to get back into some nice watercolour painting. Also quite proud of my time management skills, as I've been strict with myself and managed to stick to a pretty rigid timetable, with an uncharacteristic lack of procrastination!

I didn't get awarded anything in the Macmillan prize, but am interested to see the winners and highly commended illustrator's work - did anyone win or knows websites of those who did?

So uni is almost finished, with 3 exhibitions to go before I am free from education at last! I'm really ready for it to be over, and looking forward to getting stuck into freelance illustration.

As promised [at last!], here's a few little peeks of some of the spreads as works-in-progress - excuse the terrible phone photos!

Also a big thanks to Tigerprint who featured me on their blog this week!

Oh dear, all quiet here again! Time has been going insanely fast, and I'm on the downhill slope now towards the imminent end of uni. Which means more time for blog posts soon, honest.

A lot has been happening - there's only 3 weeks left of my Final Major Project (children's book), and I'm actually almost finished with it now thanks to the extremely pressing Macmillan Prize deadline that I managed [by a whisker] to finish in time despite a rather tenacious cold.

I keep promising work in progress/sneak peeks of the project and haven't got around to it yet, so instead here's a couple of exciting things that have happened over the last couple of weeks -

Firstly, I won a little competition on Twitter with Creative Review magazine to get an entry into their Illustration annual - really exciting! I don't have high hopes to win a place in the annual, but it's a great opportunity, and I wouldn't have been able to afford to enter this year otherwise so it's a fantastic prize. Thank you, Creative Review!

The second thing is receiving my first order of business cards/postcards/minicards/greetings cards/stickers and general thrilling self-promotional goodness from Moo! I've been wanting to make an order with them for years, and I'm glad I've finally done so - really impressed by their service and the lovely packaging on everything! I suddenly have the slightly nerdy urge to collect lots of other people's business cards to put in the little 'Theirs' sections of my business card boxes.

This also means that hopefully it will now only be a couple of weeks until my etsy shop is fully stocked with prints, baby clothes and other goodies, so keep your eyes peeled for that!

Here's a little sneak peek of the Moo delivery...
